I once asked God why doesn't somebody do something about unemployment . . .
. . . what I then heard was, "I already did something - I made you." Following my cry of concern in 1996, I set up a local charity called People Matter, and since then thousands of local people have been helped into work. There now exists somewhere for people to find help over and over again when needed. It took a long time for others to join me and get involved but looking back it was worth it.
The government is encouraging more localism and wants to increase local ownership of community assets.
As I have discovered there is great strength in pooling time, talent and resources to achieve the change we want to see happen.
Will you join us in this new movement around affordable housing?
As volunteers, we are working towards creating a local movement for change around affordable housing. We need more people to join with us. By becoming a member for a £1 donation you increase our membership and strengthen our voice.
It may take us several years to complete our first project but becoming a Member is the first step to helping us.
You will be joining others on the same journey who want to make a long term difference to our neighbours and future generations to come.
Sandy Medway, Chair of Trustees.
